As part of the application process at ACE Academy, we require qualifying scores on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children - Fifth Edition (WISC),or similar, for children six years and older. For children under six, we suggest the Wechsler Primary and Preschool Scale of Intelligence - Third Edition (WPPSI). We also require the assessment to be completed by a licensed psychologist.

That said, a child is much more than any IQ score; many additional factors are considered for admission, including past school performance, motivation, readiness, social and verbal abilities, work ethic, perseverance and family support.

We recommend using a licensed psychologist who is familiar with bright children; there are specific ways that a gifted child may respond to the test differently from the average child.
